Zumran Mining & Explorations

Zumran International General Trading LLC, a prosperous trading house with extensive experience acquired over the years is supplemented by reliable supply sources and a loyal customer base to meet the challenge of the current business contests. Our success is inextricably linked to our professional and technical capabilities and to our team of highly committed, skilled, and trained staff. In addition, we have strong support from our suppliers and manufacturers from UAE, Malaysia, India, China & Zambia who give us access to various products. We guarantee quality products and provide the best support available in the market.

Founded in the early 2000’s as a trading company, we have grown to become a major producer of  Gold, copper and other precious metals. We currently have copper and gold mining operations that are prevalent in the southern part of Africa and our purpose is to correctly source the commodities that improve everyday life. We are dedicated in teaming up with our host communities to transform these natural resources into tangible benefits.

At Zumran we understand that people are at the forefront of our business which is why we prioritise safety at all of our concessions; why we seek to minimise the impact of our operations have on the wider community and we aim to entice employees who have an ambition to be leaders in their field

Exploration Projects

ZMEL has 24 Exploration licenses targeting diversified commodities in some of the highest-grade mineral-rich provinces of Zambia. Our exciting portfolio of licences is targeted toward a wide range of commodities e.g. Copper, Tin, Gold, Phosphate, and Gemstone. This reflects our purpose statement of ethically sourcing and processing the mineral commodities that will benefit the overall improvement of day-to-day human life. We are dedicated to teaming up with our local communities to transform vast natural resources into sustainable growth of the human civilisation.

Zambia is blessed with the best Geological set-up for the mineralisation of Copper- Cobalt, Gold, Emerald, Limestone, Manganese, Phosphate, Tin and many more. Apart from Traditional Copper and Cobalt, the rest of the commodities are very less explored. Therefore, with the aim of exploring the vast unexplored territories in Zambia, Zumran has targeted licences in most of the renowned Geological locations including the Central African Copperbelt (CACB), Mwambeshi Zone (MSZ), Ndola Rural Emerald Restricted Area (NRERA), Choma Tin Belt (CTB) and Mporokoso Basin (MB).

Zumran has employed a very strong and experienced exploration team committed to systematically exploring and maximising the value of our portfolio and the team has conducted a comprehensive Desktop Study on all of the licences. A detailed report for each of the licences was created. Furthermore, all licences were prioritised primarily on the basis of target commodity, the geological potential for mineralisation, type of mineralisation, and value.

Recently Zumran has commenced physical exploration on our Falcon and Eagle projects. These two projects are targeted for Gold exploration at Mwambeshi Shear Zone are – a location with great promise. The work has commenced with reconnaissance geological mapping, outcrop sampling, stream sediment sampling and orientation soil sampling. Zumran’s passionate team is excited about the Falcon Project as it has some of the best shear zones with Altered Mica Schist that usually hosts auriferous quartz veins. These shear zones are even very prominently visible in Satellite imageries also.

Similarly, our Alpaca Project is located in the Mporokoso Basin area and has got striking geological similarities with the Witwatersrand basin which host the best Gold deposit in the world. This area of Zambia is very little explored although past work and current artisanal activities indicate a very high potential for Gold with also a potential for Uranium and diamond mineralisation.

Tikumbe, or OB11, is located within the Central African Copperbelt (CACB) of Zambia and the DRC Congo. It sits 20Km from Chingola town, along the Mimbula Fitula belt. The Copperbelt is famous as the world’s largest and richest grade, sedimentary hosted copper deposit.

The Old Dump site OB11 25MT was created from Fitula Open Pit material which could not be further refined as the material was below the processing Cutoff Grade, reflecting the available technology at the time.

The site is extensive as it contains Copper (and other metals) where the initial extraction costs have already been expended and are therefore sunk.

But identifying the spoil with the highest potential and then extracting the prize requires business acumen, and cutting-edge operational capability. Exploitation requires skills in sampling, extraction, and processing. At Zumran we have that skills profile and experience.

As part of our Development Plan to become one of the largest and most profitable Copper producers in Zambia, we embarked on a technically driven program in 2020, to identify and exploit the reserves in a phased approach:

Phase 1: Selective drilling of the site to identify the resource profile

Phase 2: Based on the results we designed, implemented, and commissioned an extraction and processing plant which targets oxidized reserves. This integrated process employs Heap Leaching, Agitation Leach Circuit, and an SX/EX (Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning) process to produce Copper Cathodes. Tikumbe is now on the path to producing 3,600MT of Cathodes annually.

Phase 3: Targets Zumran is fully committed to its people-centric values by employing people from the local community and a Qualified Zambian technical team. Looking at the success of the current operation we are planning for a massive expansion of this project. Implementation in Mid / late 2022.

Zumran holds an important Copper license in the Argosy seam, one of four seams making up the Cheta Mineral Formation located in a belt 30 km west of Lusaka. The license covers circa 20,000 hectares.

Zumran is in the process of carrying put an objective assessment of the commercial, technical and operational feasibility [Suren to check phrasing] of the site. To date we have conducted the following programmes:

After reviewing the exciting initial results from exploratory mining, Zumran is preparing a systematic exploration strategy through diamond drilling to establish a mineable resource and reserve for commencing large-scale mining activity.

Exploration Data Gathering: Zumran used its internal engineering capability to design and execute. We adopted a 3600 approach employing:
a) high resolution hyperspectral remote sensing study
b) ground geophysics and
c) soil sampling
Interpretation and Assessment: The integrated interpretation identified a 2KM strike length of a highly anomalous zone. Experienced geologists often associate such anomalies as indicative of mineralization in the underlying bedrock. This was further supported by the identification of several old workings which were traced on the surface
Independent Verification: In the interests of external and independent verification we retained SRK Consultancy. Their “geologists have expert knowledge of the mechanisms of orebody formation and distribution within a wide range of geological and tectonic settings.” SKR Consultancy has confirmed the results of our approach in Data Gathering and Interpretation.
Exploratory Open Pit Development: Having had solid indicative but theoretical results we then proceeded develop an exploratory open pit mine in the area. This revealed the presence of good grade copper ore.

Next Steps

Zumran engineers are in the process of preparing an exploration strategy through diamond drilling to define a resource, convertible to a mineral reserve pending positive economic outcome. These details will be articulated in Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies prior to commencing large-scale mining activity.

Timelines

Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies will be completed by end Q1 2022.

Investment

Zumran is conducting confidential conversations with potential Investors starting January 2022 for this exciting opportunity.

he OB1 site is a significant tailings dump accumulated from 60 years of spoil from the Nchanga Open pit ( NOP) of Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) measuring approximately 4Km X 2Km X 80m (640m sqm) KCM is one of the top three Copper producers in Zambia.

Exploration Programmes

Historically 200 Reverse Circulation* (RC) drill holes were executed over an area (SP06) on a grid of 200m X 200m. Where the results were particularly favourable the grid was reduced to a 50m X 50m. Drilling sample evaluations indicated that Zumran’s OB1 site has 230MT of recoverable resources and favourable continuity of mineralization.

OB1 is broken down into specific areas as shown in this map. In the area SP06, resources of 13MT were identified.

This reserve is Zumran’s initial target for extraction and processing, followed by specific areas which have shown attractive indications of surface mineralization. Depth continuity will be supported by further RC drilling. Zumran is conducting confidential conversations with potential Investors starting January 2022 for this exciting opportunity.

*Reverse Circulation drilling, or RC drilling, is a method of drilling which uses dual wall drill rods that consist of an outer drill rod with an inner tube. These hollow inner tubes allow the drill cuttings to be transported back to the surface in a continuous, steady flow.

*X-Ray Transmission (XRT) technology enables materials to be recognized and separated based on their specific atomic density speeding up the process, increasing quality and reducing cost.

umran along-with its joint venture partner established a 300t/Month feed capacity ELECTRIC ARC SMELTER for production of Tin metal, Ferro-Tungsten, Ferro-Niobium, Lead, Copper, Zinc & numerous other downstream applications in metal recovery and industrial waste.

This Smelting process is a combination of two technological innovations:

(i) Digital Impedance Regulator – used to physically control the electrical power into the furnace. The regulator or ‘PLC’ (Programmable Logic Controller) is to continuously optimally regulate the electrical energy input into the furnace; this is done by incrementally readjusting the positions of the electric arcs generated at the tips of the three electrodes relative to the increasing level of the molten bath.

(ii)Thermodynamic model – used to calculate the ‘recipe’ for how fast the furnace is to be fed and controlled.

Zumran established a strong raw material supply network from:

Zambia – Tin Belt

Rwanda – Tungsten and Tantalite

DRC: Tin – Tungsten and Tantalite

Tanzania – Tin and Tungsten
